Crafty Shopping Recommendations from Handmade in KC

As a group, we talk about shopping local a lot.  Have you ever wondered where Handmade in KC members find the ingredients for their awesome creations?  Since most of our readers have a strong creative spirit we thought you might enjoy some crafty supply shopping recommendations from us.

Jennifer Connor from Creations by M and J loves to shop for her fabric at Lil Red Hen is Paola, Kansas.  Jennifer tells us that the owner is super friendly and has gorgeous fabric.  She could happily buy anything (and everything) in the store.

Christy Parker from Aunt Christy's Country Kitchen loves to shop for supplies for her delicious jams and jellies at The Dutch Bakery Bulk Food Store in Tipton, Missouri.  Christy tells us that they sell the most wonderful cinnamon and cardamom that she's ever tasted!  She can get a lot of canning and cooking supplies while she's there, as well.

Rebecca Jackson from Remnants by RJ recommends shopping at Lone Elm Antique Mall in Olathe, Kansas.  She tells us that she can always find lots of robot parts there.  Rebecca also loves to shop at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store in Lawerence, Kansas.

Carolyn Adams & Kristi Jurgensen from Hang Ups in KC love to antique shop at The Brass Armadillo in Grain Valley, Missouri and the Jesse James Antique Mall in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Both antique malls are very clean, well organized and full of treasures!

Carla Poirier from Nuggets of Goodness loves River Market Antiques in Kansas City and Timeless Treasures in Claycomo, MO. She also loves to go to estate sales to find vintage jewelry that she can re-purpose.
