Must Visit Festivals & Events for October 2015

Handmade in Kansas City members will be out and about this fall at several events. This is a great opportunity to meet us in person, see our beautiful handmade items, and share in the fall fun and great weather! It’s never too early to begin looking for special gifts for friends and family members for Christmas, either, and buying handmade adds that touch that says you really care, plus it supports local small businesses and Kansas City in general! Here are some local fall events in the Kansas City area for the month of October, and more about them so you can see which ones you would like to attend.

Gladfest Fall Festival: Gladfest was recently voted the “Best Annual Fair/Festival in the Northland”. October 2nd in the evening and October 3rd are the days available for shopping with local area crafters and vendors. You can always count on lots of great food, beverages and music! Ivory Isis, recycled jewelry and vintage designs, will be attending this event with Tania’s beautiful jewelry. Schedule and even more details are available here.

CRAFT Shop Sip Feast: Craft was created as a pop-up event by the makers of Chick Events. It is a marketplace with over 80 handcrafted and vintage vendors, an artisan food pavilion, whiskey and wine seminars and tastings, craft beer by Boulevard Brewing Company, local food, local bands, and plenty to see and do! It runs from October 3rd through October 4th. Ni-Chern Designs will be attending with Nicole’s beautiful and high-quality bags, collars, and other sewn accessories and items. Check out all of the details here.

Sugar Mound Arts & Crafts Festival: This event, held in Mound City, Kansas on October 10th and 11th, hosts over 400 vendors from as far away as California.   There will be food and crafts and plenty to see in this beautiful area of Kansas! Creations by M & J will be attending with Jennifer’s cute children’s toys, bibs, blankets, and accessories. Check it out at here

Baldwin City Maple Leaf Festival: This is a local event full of many crafters held in Baldwin City, Kansas on  October 17th and 18th. This is a celebration of the turning of the seasons and leaves in a down-home community setting. Ni-Chern Designs will be attending with Nicole’s wonderful bags, collars, and other sewn accessories and items. More information is available here

Heritage Days: The annual Heritage Days will be hosted in nearby Warsaw, Missouri on October 17th and 18th. Take a stroll out of town and see some beautiful nature while checking out Creations by M & J with Jennifer’s adorable children’s toys, bibs, blankets, and accessories. All the details are available here.

Strawberry Swing Fall Swing Pop-Up Marketplace: Strawberry Swing’s creators are having a fall pop-up marketplace at Woodyard Bar-B-Que on Sunday October 18th! There will be some beautiful burnt ends, beer, live music, plus several handmade vendors ready to show you their beautiful goods! Remnants by RJ with Rebecca’s beautiful Steampunk and robotic inspired creations will be there, along with Stik a Pin In It and Shelly’s great sewing accessories and embroidery! More information is available here

We wish you all a wonderful October!
